CropCare Labs is a research lab, not a single-purpose app company — a frontier lab for agriculture with a contrarian thesis, named research programs, and published evidence behind it, not just a mission statement.

What exists today

CropCare AI is our proof, not our whole story.

It started as a weekend build — could a phone camera actually tell a farmer what was wrong with a leaf. It worked well enough to keep going, and grew past its own scope into a system that also warns farmers when disease is spreading nearby. That’s the flagship product today: instant diagnosis from a photo, plus a regional outbreak-alert layer. It’s one program inside a broader research agenda — the first thing we shipped, not the last thing we’ll build.

The contrarian thesis

Most agricultural AI is built for input-rich conditions — stable connectivity, clean sensor data, large mechanized farms — then scaled down for everyone else. We build the other way: for a smallholder plot, patchy connectivity, mixed cropping, and a basic smartphone, from the start.

Tools like Plantix and PlantVillage picked one narrow problem — diagnosis — and stopped there. Our difference is ambition: agriculture’s interlocking problems are one research agenda, not a portfolio of separate apps.
